This article was originally published in The Conservative Era… For years, many have warned that the tax dollars the Treasury Department receives to pay for Social Security will not cover the program's cost by 2034. In the summer of 2021, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) argued against the semi-socialist Build Back Better proposal. In part, he said the government spending was out of control, the deficits were too high, and Congress needed to fix Social Security.
What about entitlement programs people are grandfathered in for those 40 and older, and then stopped going forward. Then entitlement given to truly mentally and physically disabled and including veterans, which includes folks like all police, fire, first responders, etc.
Definitely not near perfect, but just a thought. We have to do something and someone smarter than me needs to make it happen soon.
